Shrek 2 is at the New Capitol Cinemas, Game City. Shrek (2001) had a winning streak. It was a successful, though distorted, adoption of the William Steig children’s book. It had the great green ogre Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers), and Fiona, the princess become ogre (spoken by Cameron Diaz) with the wonderful Donkey (given life by Eddie Murphy).

Taxi Association cancels two-day strike
THE Gaborone Taxi and Bus Service Association Chairman, Gibson Matenge, announced at a press briefing on Wednesday, that the association has decided to cancel the two-day strike, which was supposed to begin yesterday.

Horror crash in sleepy village
RADISELE: At least six passengers died on Tuesday evening when a northbound public service bus carrying 50 people collided with a truck near Radisele village.

Nurses steal from the dead
MAHALAPYE: Mahalapye police station commander Superintendent Alakanani Makobo says he was shocked at the way some people conducted themselves at the scene of Tuesday night’s fatal accident. “There was no order at all. Instead of assisting the injured and the dead, people were content with looting goods from the truck,” he said.

Seeletso clarifies IEC position
THE secretary of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has clarified their position in response to accusations by the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), that the IEC is not fair or independent and that it is controlled by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Gabz FM not going under - station manager
GABZ FM Chief Executive Kennedy Otsheleng has denied that there are any imminent sales of the radio station’s assets. This week’s edition of The Midweek Sun carried an advertisement that stated the station’s equipment would be auctioned off following a matter between “the commissioner of taxes and Your Friend (PTY) Ltd (trading as Gabz FM 96.2)”.

A bag of macaroni or spaghetti sells for R10 while biscuits are sold in small packages for 50 cents and an empty 50 kg bag costs R2.50.

Gaborone-Rasesa Rd lights to be operational
THE traffic lights and streetlights on the Gaborone - Rasesa dual carriageway, after Mmamashia have never functioned even though construction on the road was completed a while ago. As a result of the non-functioning lights, road carnage is high on this particular part of the road.
