Fashion splash at Barclays Eagle awards

THE Barclays Eagle Awards at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) presented the “who is who” in the banking sector. This was also an opportunity to wear lazily whatever one would, to make them look presentable in the evening lights. Like in the popular literature book, ‘Girls in their Sunday dresses’ the women wore their favourite colours and turned out as if they were in a play. The proceedings were a sequel to the busy week for the bank-when they announced their revised financial results earlier in the day.

The awards were meant to honour deserving men and women who have dedicated their work to the bank. The managing director of the bank Thuli Johnson, came late to the function, delaying the proceedings. He came late and offered an apology-which added laughter to the eagerly awaiting women.

Johnson told his guests that he was delayed because he had to look for a suit that would suit the occasion. He wore a black suit and joined the other bank employees who were in their best elements. Popular comical radio character Dignash added laughter to the night as he took the guests through the pace of comedy and broke their jaws with his popular sense of humour.

Dignash also wore a black suit and he kept referring to the back table where there was a bank employee wearing Israeli clothes as if he was negotiating oil deals.

Bank’s spokesman Mike Klinck had on a light green suit on the night.
