Street vendors demonstrate over harassment
THOUSANDS of street hawkers and vendors poured into the streets of Gaborone yesterday jamming traffic for close to an hour as they demonstrated against what they called “a tide of terrorism at the hands of the council”.

SA could write off African debt
GOVERNMENT is considering writing off the debt owed it by several African countries, Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has announced. Briefing the media at Parliament, she said the debt dated from the apartheid era, before the first democratic elections in 1994, and was granted by the previous government.
