A shot in the arm for the environment
As the country’s need for infrastructure increases, the constructions and developments will gain momentum both in and outside the main urban areas. Gaborone has seen many new developments from residential buildings to industrial complexes.But this has brought with it challenges to the legal structures to make them relevant to modern issues surrounding developments such as the environmental, economic, social, human health and aesthetic impacts of such developments.

BCL workers plan massive demo
The Selebi-Phikwe branch of the Botswana Mining Workers Union (BMWU) is set to engage in a massive demonstration on Friday, a union official has said. Deputy BMWU national chairman, Golekanye Mogende told Mmegi yesterday that the peaceful demonstration is set to clash with the official launch of the new BCL mine logo, billed for Friday and Saturday.

Attorney’s writing earns judges’ wrath
Two of the three judges presiding over the Basarwa relocation case voiced their displeasure with attorney Duma Boko’s latest column in the Monitor. Justice Unity Dow yesterday described the column as disrespectful and obnoxious and said she found it offensive.

BTA bill passes second reading
