Thatched houses - tsa kwa ditlhoeng
Why then, is traditional architecture such as of these grand thatched houses not officially adopted as standard? Could it be that our leaders who know very well the discomfort of tin roof structures in our climate are hoarding the comfort and the wisdom of our forefathers for themselves? One imagines such grand structures as found in downtown Maseru, Lesotho.

Hot summers under The Fig Tree
Summer is here with a bang; we are back to sweating and wishing for the winter chills again. To help reduce the sweat level I dropped into the Fig Tree. Do you know where that is? It represents al fresco dining with a vengeance.

Drifting Clouds (1996) and The Man without a Past (2002) is being shown on Tuesday 14th of December and Thursday 16th of December 2004, only at 7 p.m. at the Maru a Pula School, A/V Centre. The Gaborone Film Society’s Finnish Film Festival concludes next week with Aki Kaurismäki’s two best films: Drifting Clouds and The Man without a Past.
