Save the All-Party Conference LAST week, I wrote that President Festus Mogae and his ministers were right in arguing that they were not in government to implement the policies of Botswana’s opposition parties. This illustrates better than anything else the inconsistency that is inherent in the phenomenon of Botswana politics that has come to be known as the All-Party Conference – a meeting at which all the country’s political parties are supposed to discuss and agree on important national issues.BDP breached no contract
THE Botswana political scene never ceases to amaze me. Recently, we have been inundated with terms such as arrogance, undemocratic, sycophants, dictatorial, and other negatives referring to the ruling party, engineered by opposition parties, with a little help, and platform from their comrades in deception - part of the independent press. It is clear both take us (the ordinary Motswana) for granted.Need for Zebras reserve side
ALTHOUGH we failed to beat Angola in the COSAFA Castle Cup quarterfinals, we played an exciting brand of soccer. If only we had a prolific goal scorer in our ranks we could have salvaged something from the match. We matched our tough opponents and were able to control possession for long periods.
