THE Minister of Mineral Energy and Water Affairs, Boometswe Mokgothu, and the United States Ambassador to Botswana, Joseph Huggins, last Thursday announced the extraction of coal-bed methane that will deliver gas within six months, from a pilot plant at a location 170km north of Gaborone.

BITF stands almost fully booked
BOOKINGS for exhibition space at this years Botswana International Trade Fair (BITF), have already reached near capacity. According to Joyce Thema, CEO of Fairground Holdings - organisers of the event - 95 percent of exhibition space is already taken and exhibitors are now scrambling for the few remaining spaces. The fair, which will be held at the Gaborone International Showgrounds, will run from August 23-29, and has so far attracted 321 local and international exhibitors.

Inflation on the rise
THE national year-on-year inflation is threatening to close on the Bank of Botswana (BoB) inflation cap of 7 percent. Consumer Price Statistics for the month of July, released on Friday, by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that inflation for the month under review rose marginally by 0.1 percent to 6.8 percent from the June rate of 6.7 percent. In this year’s tightened monetary policy, BoB set an inflationary target ranging between 4 and 7 percent.

Riding on a buoyant media industry

This is a sentiment that Paul Saungweme - Group Marketing and Sales Manager of Advantage Media shares.
