SADC enjoys highest percent of trade in Africa
Southern African Development Community (SADC) enjoys the highest percentage of intra regional trade on the African continent. SADC deputy executive secretary, Albert Muchanga, who was briefing the media, following last week’s SADC Ordinary Summit in Mauritius said, compared to other regional blocks such as ECOWAS and COMESA, SADC’s trade figures are the highest and constitute 24 percent of global trade. Muchanga was upbeat about the fact that the region was geared for the Free Trade Area by 2008 and the SADC Customs Union by 2012. “We are happy to be leading regional blocks in terms of intra regional trade in Africa,” he declared.

Sticking with the backbone of Batswana business

Tirisanyo centre holds groundbreaking ceremony
THhe Tirisanyo-Catholic Commission Orphan Day Care Centre in Mogoditshane held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday. The US Office of Defence Cooperation through the US European Command’s Humanitarian Assistance programme provided over $335,000 (P1.5 million) for the construction of the orphan day care facility.
