BBA to feature in Africa Championships

BOTSWANA Badminton Association (BBA) has been invited to participate at this year’s Africa Championships which will take place in Mauritius next week. This is an International Badminton Federation sanctioned tournament held under the auspices of African Badminton Federation.


According to the acting president of the BBA, Richard Molosiwa, Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) has agreed to sponsor six players and two officials to this tournament. Orange (Botswana) has donated the warm up outfit for the players and their officials at the tournament.

The players are Godwin Mathumo, Mpiwa Basenogile, Kabelo Mosinyi, Maria Mohambi, Reitumetse Modisenyane and Kgomotso Tsheole.

The team will be managed by Hamilton Mphinyane and coached by Mpho Keineetse. The team leaves tomorrow and it is expected back home on April 27.

Basenogile, who is based in Malaysia is expected to display his skills at the tournament.

He is one of the Elite Scholarship students currently studying overseas. He will join the team in Mauritius and go back to Malaysia after the championships.
